Well, let's just say I'm soooo thankful we are all alive and well..for the most part:) This morning we went and had a Father's Day breakfast at Cracker Barrel and were headed to the lake on this gorgeous day! We unloaded boat and started off like usual. Within 5 minutes of being on the boat the tube which was lying on the back of the boat flew off and the rope which was below Bentley's feet in the back started to unravel with it. Before we know it the entire tube and rope were in the water and Bentley was hunched over holding his foot screaming and all I'm seeing is blood that is rapidly gushing all over the white interior. We stopped immediately I threw Brannan to Jason and my motherly nurse instinct kicked in. I grabbed a towel and began applying pressure. After a couple minutes we took off the towel and realized that it was pretty deep and needed to get to a hospital with much anticipation there would be stitches. Well basically that's what happened 7 stitches and 1 hr later (pretty good ER timing, I thought) we were told it wasnt broken and no swimming or activity for 10days. This shattered Bentley's spirits because he was due to compete in several events tomorrow night's swim meet and also on Tuesday's. We are all just very thankful that this was it..could have been much worse.
I'm not going into detail but the day prety much continued to go down hill from there...I've never been so happy to just sit on the couch and let my kids watch tv (and for those of you that know me well, that's not typical:)
