Ok, for those that know me well know that I have hated to cook. This past January, one of my running buddies started talking about how much healthier it was to mill your own grain, etc. (for those that care to know more search Breadbeckers for specifics). Well, after talking to Jason about it for a couple of months and doing my research, I headed up to the shop in Atlanta my last day there, to buy my grains because I was going to be purchasing such a large amount (84lbs of it to be exact). I waited to buy the mill until I was out here and unpacked because I knew I would have no time to use it until then. It came in last Wednesday and since I have made 4 loaves a bread (avg. 2/week), 32 pancakes, 32 waffles (16/each/week) each made with Ezekiel flour (a very high protein mixture) that I milled myself, a dozen dinner rolls and a homemade pizza crust. EVERYTHING (this goes down for the record) my kids have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED! So then to top it off we purchased an ice cream maker yesterday and made organic strawberry ice cream per their request and now they think I'm the best chef on this earth. It's really too funny because I know neither are that big of a deal but around this house it's been a life-changing week. Not that my kids were picky eaters because they definitely weren't but we went more from "why do we have to eat this" to "Mom, you're the best cook ever!" Thanks to all my ATL buddies for forever changing the way we like our flour around here:)
Happy Cooking!

Way to go Fallon! I have decided to use the tomatoes and peppers we grew from our plants this year and try my hand at making salsa! I'm loving it and its a big hit with Nick and our friends at POC!
I'd have loved to see the look on your movers faces when they had to transport 84 lbs of grain cross country!!! You have gotten so crafty! I am impressed.
